What we do, and what we do not do

Maryland Local Merchants is an independent brokerage and referral agency. We are not a bank and we are not a payment processor. Payment processing services are provided by third-party providers under their own merchant agreements, and those agreements govern the relationship between you and that provider.

We may receive compensation from a provider when a business we introduce opens an account. This does not add a cost to you, and it does not change the offer you are shown.

Information on this site

The content here is general information about payment processing, not legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice. Card brand rules, interchange categories, and compliance requirements change over time and vary by business. Before acting on anything you read here, confirm it applies to your situation.

No guarantee of savings

Any savings depend on your processing volume, average ticket, card mix, current pricing, and what providers are willing to offer. Some businesses are already competitively priced, and in those cases we will say so. We do not guarantee any specific rate, saving, or result.

Rate reviews and quotes

A rate review is an estimate prepared from the documents you provide. Its accuracy depends on those documents being current and complete. Any offer from a provider is subject to that provider’s underwriting, approval, and final documentation.

Your responsibilities

• Do not send full card numbers, bank credentials, or other sensitive identifiers through this site
• Do not use this site unlawfully, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it
